Industry scams are prevalent.

Tips to avoid scams:

Do they accept American Express?  Who processes their billing system?  Is it a third-party internet based service, or a real brick-and-mortar bank?

Search information about the company, especially their published phone number. Is it toll free only?  No direct line?  Search the number, you may be shocked as to what you find!  Also, inspect the number as it resides on the site..  Is the phone number displayed actual text characters, or a 'photo' of a phone number?  Photo's of text are used to obfuscate the search engine's from listing the page the number resides on. 

This is indicative of an attempt to hide something.
